Jizan started learning belly dancing in 1993. In 1994 she auditioned to be a part of "Dancers of the Crescent Moon", an award winning troupe directed by Siwa. Jizan learned from Siwa to add drama and storytelling to her performances. In 1996 Jizan became a solo performer and won the title of Belly Dancer of the Year at the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant. This was followed by the 1997 Belly Dance Duet of the Year Award with her daughter Bethlehem. She also won the 1998 Belly Dance Troupe of the Year and 2002 Grand Dancer of the Year awards.

She studied with Shareen El Safy, Siwa, Mashuqa Mira Murjan, and Dunia, her mentor and teacher for many years.

In 1998 Jizan performed and taught a workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has performed at many restaurants, festivals, events and competitions in the Bay Area and Los Angeles area.

She represented the Latin community in an interview and performance for Telemundo. She was a member of the Desert Dance Festival committee for many years and performed at the Night Extravaganza Show various times. She served as a judge at the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant for many years as well as at other dance competitions in the Bay Area.

Jizan incorporates in her performances a fusion of Flamenco, Latin, American tribal and American cabaret. She teaches private and group classes in San Jose to beginners, intermediate and advanced students and coaches performers for competitions.
